Try your hand at geocaching, a high-tech game of hide and seek using GPS (Global Positioning System), with some help from some local geocaching fans.
The event, entitled Geocaching in Geauga Parks, will take place on Saturday, August 29 from 10 a.m. to noon at Big Creek Park, Donald W. Meyer Center, 9160 Robinson Road, Chardon Twp.
After an introductory presentation on the activity, members of the local Northeast Ohio Geocachers will help you learn to use your own handheld GPS or several Park District-owned devices available to borrow during the program. Participants will then search for a couple temporary caches or an official multicache in place at Big Creek Park.
Registration is not required for this program, which will be partially wheelchair/stroller accessible. All caches are off trail. Call 440-286-9516 with questions.
