GGP 2015 Summer Internship Open House

The Geauga Growth Partnership announces their January 20 Open House for Geauga County juniors, seniors and their parents to learn about the 2015 Paid Summer Internship program.

The event will be held at the Kent State Geauga, 14111 Claridon Troy Road in Burton, Ohio, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30pm. It is open to any in-school or home-schooled junior or senior who is a Geauga County resident. Go to Eventbrite to register.

Many sponsors will be present to speak their companies and describe the positions being offered. There will be a short question and answer period for the parents and students and the program will end in time for conversations with students and parents.

Interns are selected in a competitive process that begins with applications that are due February 13, 2015, by 5pm. A full application, including all forms, is available from high school guidance counselors or on the GGP website, where details on the open positions are also available.

In addition to the application process, interns will be interviewed by sponsoring employers at their place of business. The goal is to provide 50 internship opportunities and we thank our sponsoring companies for their participation.

“We are delighted to offer these internship opportunities to Geauga students,” said Lee Imhof, chair of the Partnership’s Internship Task Force, “and we encourage all interested students and their parents to attend the January 20 Open House. These internships give our students real-world experience in the workplace and insight into employment opportunities in Geauga County.”
