Geauga Growth Partnership (GGP) is pleased to announce our Annual Business Meeting which will take virtually on Tuesday, June 23 at 8:00 am. At this event, GGP leadership will present organizational updates, as well as share future priorities which have been identified in the organization’s strategic plan. In addition, the Keynote Speaker, Mr. Christopher Mapes, President and CEO of Lincoln Electric, will speak about his views on the global economy and the 125th Anniversary of Lincoln Electric. Christopher Mapes, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer for Lincoln Electric
(NASDAQ: LECO), joined the organization in 2010 and assumed his current role in 2013. During his tenure, his focus on value-added solutions and continuous improvement has resulted in record financial performance and has distinguished Lincoln as the most innovative solutions provider in the industry.
Mr. Mapes was elected to the Lincoln Board in 2010 while serving as Executive Vice President of A.O. Smith Corporation (NYSE: AOS) and President of its Electrical Products unit. Prior to A.O. Smith, he was President, Motor Sales and Marketing of Regal Beloit Corporation (NYSE: RBC) and had also served as president of the Global OEM Business Group of Superior Essex, Inc. He currently serves on the board of directors of The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR), the Greater Cleveland Partnership, NAM (National Association of Manufacturers) and MAPI (Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation). Mr. Mapes is the Board Chairman of the American Red Cross Greater Cleveland Chapter, serves on the leadership team for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s Harvest for Hunger campaign, and is active in a variety of other charitable endeavors.
Mr. Mapes holds a B.S. degree from Ball State University, a J.D. from the University of Toledo, and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
