Giant Book Sale at Great Geauga County Fair

An extensive collection of gently used library materials at rock-bottom prices will be available at the Great Geauga County Fair Aug. 29 – Sept. 2, 2013. This book sale is sponsored by Geauga County Public Library’s Friends of the Bookmobile. The sale is held in the book barn, next to the free parking area by Gate 1. Fair goers are invited to stop by the sale, make their selections, and leave them with library staff and volunteers while they enjoy the other fair attractions. All items will be ready for pick-up when visitors leave.

GCPL has been expanding its collection over the past year, resulting in extra weeding efforts to make room for new materials. The upshot of this practice is that hundreds of additional fiction and nonfiction titles are now available for people to acquire and add into their personal collections. Also, a wide variety of DVDs and CDs will be on the shelves.

Monday is “bag day,” when $3 buys people a bag filled with as many books as it will hold. “The book sale at the fair is popular every year,” says Bookmobile Manager Jane Attina, “but this year’s selection is among the most robust I’ve ever seen. This is a great time to stock up on all kinds of reading material.
