The Giggles ‘n Stitches 4-H sewing club attended the Geauga County 4-H Volunteer and Member Recognition Banquet on November 8 at Chow Down in Huntsburg. The club members and advisors received awards and recognition for their successful 2014 4-H season.

Six club members – Maggie Eibler, Sarah Miller, Lillian Ostrander, Shelia Roberts, Betsy Sawyer, and Graycen Wood – were recognized for representing Geauga County at the Ohio State Fair in August. Club Cloverbud Hannah Cooper was recognized for her hard work and great attitude with the new Outstanding Cloverbud award. Club member Graycen Wood was awarded the Outstanding 4-H Member award for her dedication, hard work, and exceptional club involvement this year.

Advisors Beth Ward and Julia Wood received the Clover Key award for their five years of outstanding service and genuine passion toward the 4-H program.

Giggles ‘n Stitches was awarded Honor Club for the fourth year in a row, recognizing the club’s exceptional achievements. Three club members – Sarah Miller, Betsy Sawyer, and Graycen Wood – were recognized for their participation on the county’s Youth Fashion Board, and four members – Sarah Miller, Lillian Ostrander, Betsy Sawyer, and Graycen Wood – were recognized for their participation on the county’s Junior Fairboard.

Giggles ‘n Stitches will officially end their 2014 4-H season with a club holiday party that will be held in December. The club will meet again in February of 2015 to elect officers and select projects, and they will take a field trip to the Original Sewing and Quilt Expo next March.
