The kindergarten graphed their guesses of what will happen with the groundhog. Or should we say what they hope will happen??
We wondered why a groundhog only sometimes sees his shadow. After experimenting with darkness and light we learned that a groundhog only sees his shadow when there is light. The shadow happens when something (the groundhog in this case) blocks the light. Twelve of our seventeen students thought that the groundhog would not see his shadow, boy are we glad they were right!
