Happy Anniversary to End of the Commons General Store in Mespo

33 years ago Ken and Margaret Schaden from Garfield Heights, Ohio decided they had enough of the corporate life.
Ken, an overseas buyer for a big clothing company named Bobby Brooks and Margaret, who headed up the home with 10 children at that time with the eleventh one to come at a later date.
That’s when Ken and Margaret decided to purchase a little store in Mesopotamia known as Munson’s. Many of you know that trying to succeed in a small town with big box stores all around can be very difficult to support a family, but thankfully a hand from above led Ken and Margaret on the journey over the years with many ups and downs.
It took hard work, a family that sticks together and many years before the store could support their family. Now 33 years later, the general store supports their children’s families and 15 others in the community.

“We are Grateful for our customers who show their support and we are grateful for our staff that represents our values to the customers”, says Peter Schaden.
