Harmonica Duo to Entertain The GANG

On Tuesday evening, June 17, harmonica virtuosos, Debbie and Art Temple (aka the Wind Harps), will share their talent with the GANG (Geauga Arts Network Group). This educational program, which is free and open to the general public, will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Heinen’s Cafe, 402 Center Street in Chardon, Ohio. No reservations are necessary.

The Temples will entertain The GANG with a variety of music, while discussing the art of harmonica playing. They will also display various types of harmonicas and explain their use. Art usually plays a special chord harmonica while accompanying Debbie who plays lead on the more familiar melody harmonicas.

Art is also the leader of the Chardon Firehouse Harmonica Band, and Debbie is their music director. They first met through their involvement in this group, so harmonicas are a central theme in their lives. Their wedding ceremony featured harmonica music, and the guests were all given small harmonicas as party favors.

In keeping with the topic of the evening, guests are encouraged to bring any unusual and/or antique harmonicas for the show-and-tell portion of the program. The hosting artist this month will be Chesterland musician Nicky Bucur.

The Geauga Arts Network Group is an ad hoc group whose mission is to promote communication, collaboration, and cooperation across artistic disciplines for artists living and/or working in Geauga County. For further information, contact Joanne Durante, 440-729-6481.
