Help! Rescue Village in Urgent Need of Volunteers

Rescue Village has an URGENT need for Moring Cat and Puppy Prep/Care.

Morning Cat Prep/Care is one of our most difficult positions to fill every day and we need your assistance spreading the word that help is needed!

Cat Care Volunteers work closely with our staff in the cleaning and housekeeping of our cat adoption areas. This position requires repetitious bending, kneeling, walking, and light lifting. Volunteers are exposed to fecal matter, zoonotic diseases and lots of purry love. Morning prep volunteers are responsible for preparing and cleaning the cat adoption areas during the 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. shift OR 8:30-10:30 a.m. shift.

We are holding a training class for anyone interested in volunteering for this position, either on a regular/once a week shift, on a temporary basis, or an on-call basis. The class will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 6:30p.m. To register, or for more information, please contact the volunteer coordinator, Lisa Ishee, at 440-338-4819 x 18 or email her at volunteer@geaugahumane.org.

How much do you love puppies? You can love them even more by providing hands-on help when needed at the shelter. We are holding a Morning Prep Puppy Care/Cleaning class on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 6:30 p.m. Since we don’t always have puppies, our goal is to train volunteers that can be on-call for each day of the week.

When we have puppies, we’ll put the call out for those trained to sign up through VICNET, our online volunteer information center. Morning shifts are from 8:30-10:30 a.m. If you are even slightly interested and want to be able to help when you can, please plan to attend. Contact Lisa at 440-338-4819 x 18 or email volunteer@geaugahumane.org to let us know you can attend so we can know how many to expect.
