Home is where the heART is – Geauga Arts Council calls Newbury HOME

The Geauga Arts Council organization has been one of the best kept secrets in Geauga County.  Since 2001, the non-profit organization has been dedicated to the enrichment of our community through the promotion of education, access and participation in the arts.

Current President, Carlene Holtz has had a vision for the Arts Council to find a centralized location for a home since 2017. She and her board members, Teresa Runion, Brittany Selfe-Paynter, Aimee Pierson, Dave Cvelbar, Cyndi Konopka and Monica Glasscock have spent the last few years reviving the presence of the Arts Council. In that time, they have operated and grown the organization in South Russell.

In the midst of COVID they helped create community and held a successful Art Market in the Fall of 2020. In January 2022, South Russell Village decided to put a no left turn sign into the business location which then stopped all activities and events. The Arts Council had to find a new home. Part of the Geauga Arts Council’s strategic plan in finding a permanent home is to have a sense of place.

When one door closes another door opens…
The Newbury Business Park has welcomed GAC as a new tenant and they couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.
