Indoor Gardening Weekend at Lowe’s Greenhouse

Crush your winter blues with thoughts of Spring and gardening! On Feb. 20 and 21, Lowe’s Greenhouse will present many classes and workshops on indoor gardening including fairy gardens, terrariums, seed starting and more. Saturday, Feb. 20

Healthy Home/Healthy Houseplants  10 – 10:45 a.m.

Did you know that houseplants can make your home environment healthier? Learn the basics of houseplant care and what plants are easiest to care for. Free, class size is limited, pre-registration is appreciated.

Mason Jar Windowsill Herb Workshop 11 – 11:45 a.m.

Plant your own windowsill herb garden and watch it grow in your home. Materials cost $10. Class size is limited, pre-registration is required.

Life in a Bottle… Terrarium Workshop  12 – 12:45 p.m.

Terrariums have grown in popularity and make a fun and interesting project. We will learn the elements of terrariums, what makes them work and what plants are appropriate for this environment. Every participant will build their own terrarium to take home. Materials cost $25. Class size is limited, pre-registration is required.

The Basics of Tropical Plant Propagatiom   1 – 1:45 p.m.

Have you ever wondered where plants come from? Learn about modern greenhouse production techniques, how plants are grown and propagated.  We will do some hands on work and every participant will take home some new plants. Free, class size is limited, pre-registration is appreciated.

Sunday, Feb. 21

Building a European Dish Garden Workshop  1 – 1:45 p.m.

This traditional tropical plant arrangement is an ideal tabletop decoration for homes, offices or makes the perfect gift. Learn about basic houseplant care and then make your own European Garden to take home. Materials cost $25. Class size is limited, pre-registration is required.

Fairy Garden Workshop  2 – 2:45 p.m.

Adults and children alike will enjoy this opportunity to build a fairy garden. Learn about the plants and how to create an environment where these plants can grow and attract garden fairies. Choose from dozens of miniature garden elements to decorate your new fairy garden. Materials cost $25. Class size is limited, pre-registration is required.
