INTRODUCING…“TREE HOUSE” CAMPING

Big Creek Park opens new campsite on a ravine among the trees

 

A new camping experience has arrived in Geauga Park District with the opening of Big Creek Park’s new, highly anticipated “tree house” site!

 This room among the trees, built entirely in-house by Geauga Park District’s construction crew, features sliding doors on both sides, a porch overlooking a scenic ravine, wooden bunk beds and a fold-down bistro set including a small table and two chairs. A steel fire ring with a flip-up cooking grate, a 10’ x 10’ tent pad and a stone bench are also onsite.

 For the immediate future, reservations for “Tree House” Campsite E can only be made by calling 440-286-9516 between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at least one day prior to your stay, and fees apply: $25 a night for Geauga County residents or $50 for out-of-county residents, with a $25 refundable security deposit required to take the key. Sorry, no walk-in camping is permitted.

 Check-in between 2:30 and 4:30 PM; check-out is at noon. Please also note that restrooms are located a ways from the site near the parking lot and have no flush toilets or running water.  Big Creek Park is located at 9160 Robinson Road in Chardon Township.
