National Honor Society Induction
Congratulations to Kenston High School students who were inducted into the National Honor Society. Each student had to demonstrate the qualities of scholarship, character, leadership and service. October Rotary Senior
Elena Lioudis has been selected Kenston’s Chagrin Valley Rotary Club Student of the Month in October. She maintains a 4.2-grade point average. She was named a Harvard Book Award winner, AP Scholar with Distinction and a National Merit Commended Scholar. She has also received the President’s Award of Academic Excellence for her scholarship and community service. She will graduate with an AP Capstone Diploma and a Community Service Cord.
Athletically, Elena plays club and high school volleyball. She is a three-time varsity letter winner and currently a senior captain. She has earned Western Reserve Conference Scholar honors, Kenston Volleyball Scholar-Athlete recognition, and earned a spot on the 2020 WRC All-Conference team. In addition to sports, she is the President of the Math Club and a member of the Russian Club, Mu Alpha Theta and National Honor Society. In addition, she serves as a peer tutor, dedicating over 100 hours assisting students in math, science and history.
Outside of school, Elena enjoys baking and works at White Flower Cake Shoppe as a cake decorator. Over the past five years, she has grown a home business selling baked goods, and in March 2020, she began shipping cookies nationwide. Additionally, during the pandemic, she shared her baked goods with local hospitals and made reusable fabric masks for those in need.
Elena is currently applying to colleges and universities. She is interested in majoring in Molecular and Developmental Biology.
KCS presents Father Knows Best
Kenston Center Stage proudly presents a socially distanced version of Father Know Best on November 4, 5 and 6 with performances at 7pm and a 2pm Saturday matinee on November 6. Tickets can be purchased the evening of the play with cash or check. This production will feature two alternating casts.
The District will host a special S’MORE (Senior Moments of Rockin’ Entertainment) dress rehearsal performance on Wednesday, November 3 at 6pm.
The popular 50s radio show comes to life about a wise family man, Jim Anderson, his common-sense wife Margaret, and their children Betty, Bud and Kathy. The town’s social life is suddenly centered on the Anderson household. The excitement and humorous complications grow and then, in the final scene, Father discovers that while he may know best, the young people know a little, too.
Military Wall of Honor
The Kenston Alumni Association, in partnership with the District, has created a Military Wall of Honor. It was unveiled on Veterans Day 2018. We continue to add and recognize graduates as their information is submitted.
We are proud of our brave and selfless service members who graduated from Auburn, Bainbridge, or Kenston High Schools. We wish to recognize their service on behalf of the United States of America with the Kenston Schools Alumni Military Wall of Honor program.

Family Ties Night
We believe in the importance of family; it is the single most important influence in a child’s life. That is why we strive to nurture and build relationships between family and school. Some of the researched benefits of spending time together on a regular basis as a family include increased academic success, reduction of substance abuse and strengthening the family bond.
November 2 and March 2, the entire school district will take part in Family Ties. “Family Ties Nights are evenings with no homework assigned, no athletic practices or games after 4:30 pm and no meetings or activities hosted in the district,” said Superintendent Nancy Santilli, “Plan to spend the evening enjoying your family! Have a game night, go for a walk at a local park or read together.”
