Families can help build homes for Prothonotary Warblers this Sunday, February 2, when Western Reserve Land Conservancy holds its annual Kids in the Snow! event from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Rookery, 10110 Cedar Road in Munson Township.
Dan Best of the Geauga Park District will be on hand to provide more information about this special songbird. Meet in the Great Blue Heron Lodge.
After working on the warbler homes, participants will head outside for a hike in which they will learn how animals use sights, sounds, and smells in the woods. Participants are asked to wear hats, mittens, boots, and other cold-weather clothing. There will be warm drinks and snacks available after the hike.
The event is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated.
Please RSVP by contacting Kim Bihler at kbihler@wrlandconservancy.org or (440) 528-4162.
