Kinetico Incorporated, located in Newbury, Ohio, has been a manufacturer of water treatment for 46 years. Kinetico’s residential and commercial water softeners, filters and drinking water systems, are sold worldwide. They have also made a name for themselves in areas outside of their water treatment expertise, by supporting Geauga County and surrounding local areas with its Corporate Giving Program. This idea of giving back to the community is an enduring tradition, started by Kinetico’s founders more than 40 year ago.
When it comes to supporting the community, Kinetico has quite a long and diverse history. They provided funds to erect the Geauga Family YMCA, in Chardon, Ohio and donated the building’s water treatment equipment. (They still provide regular maintenance, filters and bottled water to the YMCA today.)
Kinetico is also a major supporter of the American Heart Association, Drink Local, Drink Tap (a water advocacy organization based in Cleveland), Habitat for Humanity, Geauga County’s Job and Family Services and the local Relay for Life.
In addition to the aforementioned service work, Kinetico supports numerous other local organizations including schools. Every fall, near the start of the school year, Kinetico offers $1,000 grants to middle schools and high schools in Geauga, Lake and Ashtabula counties. Schools need to formally apply for the “Teen Education Grant” and share what they would do with the money in a proposal. As the name implies, the goal is for schools to use the grant money on programs that will educate middle and high school students about topics that affect teens. In the past, schools have used the grants for programs on bullying, texting and driving, leadership and social media. Kinetico roots themselves deeply in the idea of wellness and leading a healthy life.
Speaking of healthy life, Kinetico’s charity is not only limited to causes outside of its front doors. Kinetico supports its own employees with an expansive wellness program. Employees are also highly encouraged to participate in its Corporate Giving Program. Fundraisers and friendly competitions get everyone involved in making the community a better place and if an employee is passionate about a certain cause or activity, it is not uncommon for Kinetico to support those individuals with sponsorships and donations.
Not only does Kinetico changes lives by providing better water treatment solutions, they also strive to support the health and well-being of their employees and the members of their community.
