CHARDON, OHIO, July 12, 2021 – The Kiwanis Club of Chardon is pleased to announce the awarding of our 2021 scholarships. The scholarships that Kiwanis Club of Chardon awards each year are made possible through various activities, which include the sale of maple syrup products all year, a corn roast in September, and various other events, which may be different this year because of the Pandemic.
This year’s scholarships were awarded at the recent picnic meeting on July 8, which was held at the Aspen Grove Shelter in Big Creek Park. The recipients, all recent graduates including Cynthia Fisak, Emily Browne, and Elizabeth Rayl. About 30 people attended the meeting including the three scholarship recipients, their families, club members, and guests.
The Kiwanis strongly believes that even one person can help their community through volunteering. Each recipient of this year’s scholarships is involved in our community through the participation in extracurricular activities and volunteering.
“Being able to award scholarships is one of the most rewarding experiences of being a member of the Kiwanis Club of Chardon,” said chairperson of the Scholarship Committee Jim Rayl. “The Kiwanis Club of Chardon wishes each student success in their future educational endeavors.”
