
The Lakeland Community College Center for Business and Industry (CBI) will host a free, informational meeting about how local companies use college resources to hire and develop employees, sustain and improve quality, and grow their businesses on Wednesday, February 25, from 8 – 9:30 a.m. at the Geauga Growth Partnership office, 12373 Kinsman Road, Newbury, 44065. Registration, a continental breakfast and networking will be from 7:30 – 8 AM.

Presenter Gretchen Skok DiSanto, director for the Center for Business & Industry, Entrepreneurship Center and Ohio Small Business Development at Lakeland, will give an overview of the various ways that Lakeland helps local businesses with their workforce development needs.
Also presenting will be Michael Mathe, subject matter expert for Lakeland’s CBI, who will provide an overview on the revision to the ISO 9001:2015 standard and how manufacturing companies can prepare to migrate their quality management systems to the new edition of the standard. Mathe has worked with more than 200 organizations specializing in ISO 9001, 17025, 14001, 13485, AS9100 & TS16949 design, development and registration; and business planning and development.
Areas of interest as indicated by the 2014 Geauga Growth Partnership Member Survey will also be addressed. These areas include: business counseling through the Small Business Development Center and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center, increasing connections between Geauga County Businesses and Lakeland, and other business consulting, coaching and training services.
