Land Conservancy Hosts Trustee Art Exhibit

An exhibit featuring artwork produced by current and past trustees of Western Reserve Land Conservancy and its founding land trusts will be on display through July 2, 2014, at the organization’s headquarters, 3850 Chagrin River Road, Moreland Hills.

The display is now open for viewing by the public during regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. In addition, an opening reception is from 6-8 p.m. May 5; those interested in attending the reception should call (440) 528-4150.

The exhibit features work in a variety of media. Participants are: current Land Conservancy Board of Trustees Chair John Leech; current board members Sandy McMillan and Brian Sherwin; former board member Jim Watterson; Barbara Gillette of the Medina Summit Chapter Board; Ava Peterson, formerly on the Bratenahl Board and mother of current board member Beau Daane; and Charlene Makley, daughter of current board member Kitty Makley.

The nonprofit Land Conservancy has preserved 533 properties and 38,494 acres in northern and eastern Ohio. In addition, its Thriving Communities Institute has helped create 16 county land banks across Ohio. The organization opened its Moreland Hills headquarters, adjacent to Forest Ridge Preserve, a year ago.
