DeJohn Funeral Homes and Celebrations Center (12811 Chillicothe Road in Chesterland) is one of the drop off locations for the Chesterland Chamber of Commerce Scavenger Hunt which benefits the Geauga County Dog Shelter. The scavenger hunt is open to the public and continues through February 13th.
Instead of participants going around and collecting items, rather they are asked to visit various locations (businesses) and drop off items for the dog shelter. Pet items being collected include laundry detergent, paper towels, canned and dry dog, pet store gift cards, flea medications, metal kennel buckets, bleach, and Lysol disinfectant, among other important items for the shelter.
Scavenger Hunt locations include Arabica Coffee House, Benjamin Franklin/One Hour DeBord, Cabana’s Island Restaurant, Chesterland Tavern, DeJohn Funeral Home, Eastside Dog & Cat Hospital, Edward Jones, Fairmount Center for the Arts, Fenell Orthodontics, Geauga West Chiropractic, Invisible Fence, Silvercreek Veterinary Clinic, the Miniature Cellar and The Carpet Company. Each location accepts different items and all are much needed for the care of pets at the county shelter.
“We are excited to participate in this one of a kind scavenger hunt. We’re looking forward to delivering all the items collected at our Chesterland funeral home,” said Ross DeJohn III.
Participants must visit a minimum of five locations to complete the scavenger hunt. Participants will get a sticker showing that they were there and dropped off items.
Everyone that completes the scavenger hunt will receive one raffle ticket for the grand prize to be drawn on February 17th. For more information, contact the Chesterland Chamber office at 440-729-7297.
