The list of graduates of Leadership Geauga County reads like a local Who’s Who: Sheriff Dan McClelland, Former Commissioner Tracy Jemison, Cardinal Superintendent Dr. Scott Hunt, UH Geauga Medical Center CEO Steve Jones, United Way Executive Director Kimm Leininger, Kinetico Benefits Director Laurel Hildebrand, and Municipal Court Judge, Honorable Terri Stupica, and more than 400 others.

Leadership Geauga is welcoming applications for the Class of 2017.

Leadership Geauga, which began in 1995, is a leadership development program aimed at increasing the leadership pool for community activities in Geauga County. Each year, approximately 35 people are selected to participate in the program, which begins in September and ends in June the following year.

The selection committee seeks diversity in the make-up of the Leadership Geauga class in regard to age, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic factors and occupation. Candidates should exhibit an interest in civic involvement.

During the 10-month program, participants receive in-depth education on critical issues in the community including Government, Human Services, Business, Education, Health & Safety, Arts & Leisure, Youth, and Agriculture, as well as leadership and personal development topics.

Leadership Geauga County is once again preparing the annual Taste of Leadership event. As in past years, attendees enjoy appetizers and beverages and the camaraderie of colleagues. This also allows for Leadership Geauga to provide an overview of what the program can offer the future leaders of Geauga County.

We are looking forward to sampling the Taste of Leadership in April 13 at the Wicked Woods Golf Club Banquet Room, 14085 Ravenna Road, Newbury, OH, from 5 until 7 p.m. The event provides an opportunity to meet with past and potential future Leadership class members.
