Leadership Geauga proudly hosted its Human Services Day for the Class of 2024 and its annual holiday party on Friday, December 1. The event drew an enthusiastic crowd of nearly 100 attendees, including Leadership Geauga alumni, class members, board members, and distinguished guests.
This year, the Human Services Day team selected Next Step as the beneficiary for both the program day and the festive holiday gathering. Next Step is a vital organization that serves young adults aged 18-24 in Portage and Geauga Counties, offering support to those often emerging from traumatic situations and facing homelessness or the risk thereof.
The Leadership Geauga community rallied together, contributing to a collection for Next Step. The donated items, including gift cards, individually wrapped snacks, deodorant, adult-sized socks, liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner, toilet paper, and paper towels, will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the lives of those in need, aligning with the organization’s mission of community service and support.
Andrea Pollock, Director of Next Step, shared, “Next Step is so very grateful to Leadership Geauga members for their continued support and generosity! Thank you for helping to make the holidays brighter for our young adults!”.
The gratitude extends to the generous sponsors and donors who contributed to the success of the holiday party. Special thanks to Family Pride NEO, MJM Industries, Sisters of Notre Dame, Geauga Park District, and Hemly Tool for their invaluable support.
As Leadership Geauga continues to play a pivotal role in fostering community engagement and compassionate leadership, events like Human Services Day and the annual Alumni Holiday Party exemplify the organization’s commitment to making a meaningful impact on the community’s well-being.
