Geauga Park District has some great Backcountry Hikes lined up this November, offering rare access to some great preserved properties.

Registration is required for both at www.geaugaparkdistrict.org or 440-286-9516.

On Saturday, November 2nd, come to The West Woods at 1:00 p.m. and a naturalist will transport you by van to the site of a local privately preserved property to discover wildlife and learn the importance of preserved lands with Pete McDonald of the Western Reserve Land Conservancy.

Then on Sunday, November 10th, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., come to The Rookery to check out its seldom-visited preserve area during a four-mile, on-and-off-trail adventure on rugged, potentially wet terrain.

Both hikes will be rain or shine, so please dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear. Feel free to call ahead with questions.

For more on Geauga Park District offerings, please call 440-286-9516 or visit Geauga Park District online via www.geaugaparkdistrict.org, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or YouTube.
