Lisa Havlin Promoted to Fiscal Officer

Geauga County Public Library is pleased to announce that Lisa Havlin has been promoted to Fiscal Officer. In her new role, Ms. Havlin is responsible for making high-level decisions regarding a $10 million budget in a county district library with more than 200 employees. She ensures all financial operations comply with the statutes of the State of Ohio and auditing requirements. Additionally, she processes receipts and disbursements, payroll, investments and reports.

Hired in 2009 as the Deputy Fiscal Officer, Ms. Havlin has garnered significant experience in GCPL’s Business Office. She is already familiar with accounts payable and has worked with the Library Board and Director to provide timely, accurate financial reports. She provides support for payroll and group insurance, and also ensures that the library adheres to the requirements of the Affordable Care Act.

Prior to GCPL, Ms. Havlin worked at Crestmont Alliance Church in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. as an Administrative Assistant; Toccoa Falls College in Georgia as a Business Clerk; and at Smile Dental Care in Bucyrus, Ohio as Business Manager. She earned Lakeland Community College’s Business Student of the Year Award in 2015 and graduated from the school with a degree in Business Management. She is currently enrolled at Cleveland State University where she is studying Organizational Leadership.

“Lisa has a practical working knowledge of sound fiscal policies and procedures,” says GCPL Director Ed Worso. “And, she has a solid work ethic and demonstrates a willingness to serve in new capacities. She created a tracking procedure incorporating requirements under the Ohio Revised Code to ensure bid procedures and prevailing wage codes are followed. We are happy to have her as our new Fiscal Officer.”

Ms. Havlin resides in Burton Township with her family, two cats, two dogs and three chickens.
