Preludes to Nature, a solo show by regional artist Melissa Harris, will be on display from Oct. 5 through Dec. 30 at Western Reserve Land Conservancy’s Conservation Center, 3850 Chagrin River Road, Moreland Hills.
An opening reception will take place from 6-8:30 p.m. on Oct. 9.

Harris shares a desire to promote and save the natural beauty of our region with the Land Conservancy. Her show features plein air watercolors and canvas pieces of Ohio’s beautiful valleys, rivers and rolling hills. Harris explains that show “serves as an introduction to a side of my work that shares a spiritual connection to this land we call home.”
Harris is a signature member of The Akron Society of Artists and has been represented through the Kokoon Gallery at 78th Street Studios. She has exhibited paintings annually at The Women’s Show at Lakeland Community College as well as various regional exhibitions. Her work is also widely represented through private collections, both regionally and nationally.
