Local Author D.M. Pulley Visits Chardon Library Branch for a “Turning History into Fiction” Club Ink Writing Workshop

Cleveland author D.M. Pulley visits the Club Ink writing workshop at the Chardon Branch, Wednesday, March 7th at 7:00 p.m. for a discussion on how history inspires her novels and how she draws the line between fact and fantasy when writing historical fiction. She will review her own historical research techniques and lessons learned in this one-hour seminar. This event is free and open to the public. Registration required.

Pulley was a Professional Engineer in Cleveland for more than ten years, where she worked on restoring historic structures and conducting forensic investigations of building failures. She gave up working as an engineer after having two children, but being a stay-at-home mom didn’t last long before she began to search for new projects and ventures. It was then that she started to write, a dream she’d had since she was six years old. Motivated by a mysterious encounter with a deserted bank, Pulley drafted The Dead Key and submitted it to an online contest. The Dead Key was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2014 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award and an Amazon #1 Best-Seller. Her newest novel, The Unclaimed Victim, recounts the infamous Cleveland “Torso” murders.
