BRINGING UP BUTTERFLYS

All you need to know to get started “raising” Monarchs for the good of the order
By now you’ve likely seen Geauga Park District’s Monarch exhibit at The Great Geauga County Fair or learned about the Monarch’s amazing journeys to and from Mexico through a tag-and-release experience. But have you ever considered taking a more hands-on approach to helping the Monarch population by “raising” these special butterflies yourself?
If so, register soon to learn more from Naturalist Linda Gilbert during Monarch Rearing 101 on Sunday, July 24, from 2 to 3 p.m. at The West Woods Nature Center. This presentation, best for anyone ages 12+, will share a variety of tips and tricks for successfully rearing Monarch butterflies from eggs to adult. To sign up, visit www.geaugaparkdistrict.org and click Programs & Events or call 440-286-9516 before the program is full.
