Cosmic Ray Cloud Chamber

Did you know that, with just a jar, some rubbing alcohol, a bit of dry ice and some ingenuity, you could build your own cosmic ray detector – a “cloud chamber,” which lets you see traces of high-energy particles. (Isn’t science COOL?) Look no further for instruction how!

What: Cosmic Ray Cloud Chamber
When: Fridays, November 7 & 21 – 7 to 8 p.m.
Where: Observatory Park, 10610 Clay Street, Montville Twp.
Attend to try your hand at assembling a cloud chamber and using it to search for cosmic rays, then receive a set of take-home instructions on how to assemble your own cloud chamber.
Registration is not required for this program at Observatory Park, which is free to all and fully wheelchair/stroller accessible. School age and up recommended. Call 440-286-9516 with questions.
