How to talk to your parents or loved ones when they need assistance

Maplewood at Heather Hill in Chardon invites you to a presentation with dementia specialist Mary Underwood, Vice President of Memory Care at Maplewood Senior Living to discover tips about how to have difficult conversations with your parents about getting the help they need and deserve to remain safe and well. This is a how to discussion meant to provide families and adult children with the tools they need to effectively plan for the safety and wellbeing of their family members. There will be a Q and A at the end of the session.
Topics Include:
- When to decide if additional care is needed.
- What are the obstacles to getting the care and/or having the conversation?
- How to use emotion vs. facts when having the conversation.
