Spring Bird Sit
May 17, 2014
Join other Nature lovers for a group “bird sit” and tally
For those who aren’t familiar with the term, a “bird sit” is a program where nature lovers sit in one spot for a period of time and record all the birds seen and heard from that spot.
Now Geauga Park District has one on the calendar. Please drop in or out anytime during the following hours to sit a spell with a naturalist and help tally spring bird life at this park renowned for its bird watching!
What: Spring Bird Sit
When: Saturday, May 17 – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Eldon Russell Park
16315 Rapids Road, Troy Township
Sitters will want to dress for the weather and bring a chair and binoculars; signs will be posted en route to the assigned location. The Interurban Trail is fairly compacted dirt/gravel, making this sit partially wheelchair/stroller accessible. We recommend those school age and up for most effective counting. Registration is not required. Call 440-286-9516 with questions.
