Teen / Tween Yoga & Meditation Workshop
January 6 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Do you remember what it was like to be young? Long days, followed by after school activities with constant pressures to get good grades, compare yourself to others, fit in, look the right way, say the right things, often leading to negative thoughts, choices, and emotions.
What tools were you given as a teen to manage the stresses of life? What tools do your children have?
This workshop is to equip teens and preteens with skills and practices to understand how to manage thoughts and emotions so that they can make better choices and take control over how their life unfolds while learning to find peace and happiness along the way.
This workshop is targeted toward middle school and high school aged students who are either new to yoga and meditation, or who wish to deepen their practice.
Students will be guided through a creative flow, focusing on proper alignment, linking breath to movement, cultivating focus and awareness, using the breath to release, and let go. Class will conclude with a gratitude and intention setting practice, (using their complimentary journal) ending with a guided meditation.
Yoga Flow – Improve strength, flexibility and awareness while gaining balance and alignment
Breathwork – Learn to stay in the moment, cultivating a calm, clear mind, reset, re-energize, and renew
Gratitude & Intention Setting – Set positive intentions to inspire and influence choices and actions
Meditation – Find stillness, create space to rest in silence, find peace, connect to your true self, find freedom from suffering.
