Women at Risk’s Shop With a Purpose

Oct 26, 2013 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

WomenAtRiskPosterMany people assume slavery is a thing of the past. They are surprised to hear that 5,000 to 7,000 Nepali girls are trafficked to India each year. They are even more shocked to find out what happens in their own back yard. Atlanta Women’s Agenda reported that 300-400 children are sold each month in Atlanta, GA. Local woman Katrina Nelson has been doing her part to help stop human trafficking by raising money for the organization Women at Risk.

People can purchase items made by individuals who have been rescued from the human trafficking industry. Proceeds go toward saving others who are still trapped. In addition, a documentary will be shown and other information provided regarding human trafficking. For more information about this event, please contact Katrina Nelson at (440) 279-5299 or E-mail her at jeremy_katrina_nelson@yahoo.com.
