Local Musicians playing in Kent this Friday

  1. Do you like good live music?
  2. Do you like supporting local music?
  3. Do you like getting a lot of bang for your buck?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then it would behoove you to be at JB’s in Kent this Friday night, June 15. For $7 ($10 if you are under 21), you will get to see five bands and experience some excellent live music, all while supporting local musicians straight out of Geauga County.

The Band In Silent Movies
The Band In Silent Movies

One of the bands I can personally vouch for is, In Silent Movies. I have had the pleasure of seeing them a few times. In Silent Movies hails from Columbus. Well…except their drummer. Huntsburg native, Randal Detweiler, routinely makes the long drive to Columbus for band practice, recording, and shows. His dedication certainly pays off. In Silent Movies is a well-oiled indie rock machine that always puts on a good show. Their songs are dynamic, intricate, and even dance-provoking at times. Their EP, “They Had Faces Then”, is good from beginning to end, and they are currently recording some exciting new music for an upcoming record.

Also on the bill are, Quite Frankly, 40s, Moon Men, and The Moxies, a talented rock duo from Geauga County.

Put off Call of Duty and tiddlywinks until another day. Hire a babysitter. Call off work. Do not miss this show!

This is an all ages show. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
