The Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), the Geauga County Master Gardeners, and the Geauga County Storm Water Task Force invite you to Make the Most with Compost! This free workshop will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the West Woods Nature Center, 9465 Kinsman Road (State Route 87), Russell, Ohio 44072.
Composting is nature’s way of recycling your trash to treasure! Much of what we throw away from our kitchen and yard can be composted into rich, healthy soil, which helps slow runoff and filter water. Join us for this fun and informative workshop featuring special presenter and compost expert Diana Sette of Possibilitarian Garden (buckeyeporch.org). Topics include compost basics and benefits, how composting improves soil health, different composting bins and methods, and common problems to avoid.
Don’t miss out! Though this workshop is free, registration is required by Monday, September 19th. Participants will receive a free kitchen compost container along with the chance to win a ComposTumbler! Light refreshments will be served. For more information or to register, contact Gail Prunty at 440-834-1122 or gprunty@geaugaswcd.com.
