May GANG Program Features Local Vet/Blues Performer

On Tuesday evening, May 17th, fingerstyle blues performer Paul Borger will be the guest speaker at the Geauga Arts Network Group (GANG) program, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Heinen’s Cafe, 402 Center Street in Chardon, Ohio. This educational program is free and open to the general public; no reservations are necessary.

Paul Borger, DVM, who operates the Burton Veterinary Clinic, will be sharing some of his own special brand of blues, along with stories of what inspires him. According to Borger, “I tend to favor songs that have interesting and funny stories or great rhythms. They can range from Ragtime numbers from the 1920s to a New Orleans style song originally written for piano, to driving Texas blues to Piedmont style fingerpicking.”

His repertoire encompasses blues standards from the 1920s through the 1950s, as well as some novelty tunes of his own. More information about Borger and his upcoming performance dates can be found at www.PaulBorger.com. The guest host for his GANG appearance will be a Geauga-based poet, Grace Butcher.

The Geauga Arts Network Group is an ad hoc group whose mission is to promote communication, collaboration, and cooperation across artistic disciplines for artists living and/or working in Geauga County. Light refreshments will be available. For further information, contact Joanne Durante, 440-729-6481 or visit us on Facebook.
