Brittany Selfe Paynter is an artist inspired by her surroundings in Nature and the vast array of colors and forms found there – the woods, the hemlocks, the rocks, the creeks, the flowers. She works in many media including charcoal, oil paint, watercolor and ceramics. And this spring and summer, you will also be able to seek inspiration in her work during an art display beginning May 6 through July 24.
The display will open with a special Meet the Artist event Friday, May 6, from 7 to 9 p.m., which the artist herself will attend.
“Living in Northeast Ohio, I fell in love with the woods behind my house where the hemlocks surround the shale and sandstone creek,” she explains on her website. “I had always sort of known, but never noticed, just how beautiful and cool the rock outcroppings were. This appreciation led to the series ‘Paradise.””
