It’s almost March and that means Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is near! The theme for 2014 is “Ability at Work.”
As a kick-off, we are having a book signing event on Monday, March 3, 2014 with Barry Henkin, an adult with developmental disabilities. Barry Henkin’s autobiography is about how he overcame the physical, mental, emotional, and societal obstacles that have confronted him since birth.
Meet Barry at one of these locations on March 3
- Adult Services Building – 10 am until 12 pm
- Madison Building – 1 pm until 2:15 pm
- Adult Services Building – 3 pm until 4:00 pm
We also have planned many activities around the county during March. I invite you to attend one or all of the events to see what The Metzenbaum Center has going on!
Displays
Both the Burton and Middlefield libraries as well as West Woods Nature Center will have displays set up during march. Please visit these when you are at any of these locations.
