Middlefield Village Farmers Market is in Full Swing

For two consecutive Saturdays, shoppers have enjoyed the opportunity to purchase locally produced goods such as Amish grown produce, fresh bakery, jams and jellies, kettle corn, fresh-squeezed lemonade as well as sample free delicious grilled goods prepared by UH chefs at the Middlefield Farmers Market in Mineral Lake Park.

Amish vendor, Chris Fisher of D & S Organic Produce says, “Our organic sweet corn is in season and next Saturday, I will have my stand stocked. We will also have blueberries, raspberries, lettuce, several varieties of tomatoes and all other in-season organic vegetables.”

This Saturday, July 20, Paula Leonette from University Hospital’s Geauga Medical Center will be at the UH booth with a Smoking /Lung Display.

Ben Garlich, mayor of Middlefield says of the event, “I personally spent the entire morning at the market, during the first two weeks. It is fantastic, with lots of quality products and I have a great time seeing friends and catching up. I really look forward to Saturday mornings at the market.”

Kaitlyn Sirna, MFM market manager, is planning a pie-eating contest for the week of July 27, so be prepared to participate. Admission is free every week and there will be plenty of giveaways and taste testing!

The Middlefield Farmers Market will take place every Saturday 9 a.m. to noon and continue each Saturday through Sept. 28 at Mineral Lake Park, 15700 Sperry Lane in Middlefield.
