Geauga County Library Foundation’s annual fundraiser supports literacy.
Geauga County – February 17, 2020 – Fore! Join fellow library patrons and staff members for a round
of indoor golf at the GCPL Links at the Geauga West Branch, where the entire building is converted into an 18-hole golf course for one special day of fun for the whole family. This annual event is the principal fundraiser for the Geauga County Library Foundation.
What: Family event / fundraiser – 18 holes of indoor Mini Golf, plus a 19th kiddie hole
Time: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Date: Sun., March 8
Place: Geauga West Branch (13455 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland)
Cost: $5 per person
In addition to golfing, attendees can enjoy free family entertainment, such as face painting, therapy dogs, balloon artists, a kiddie hole for preschoolers, and a special visit from GCPL’s new mascot, Rascal the Raccoon. There will also be tickets available for purchase for both adult and children’s prize auctions.
Proceeds from the mini golf event support library programs that engage, connect, and inspire our
community.
- Ohio Governor’s / Dolly Parton Imagination Library partnership to send children in Geauga
County from birth to age five a new book each month. - Baby’s First Book ensures that parents of all babies born in Geauga County understand the value
of early literacy and are aware of free library services that encourage a love of reading from birth. - 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenges parents to read regularly with their children.
- Books and Bears makes sure that every enrolled kindergartener in Geauga County receives a
certificate to redeem at the library for a free book, a stuffed bear, and a customized library card. - The 100 Book Challenge for adults to complete within two years. Finishers win a fleece jacket.
- The Geauga Civil Rights Series, a collection of speakers and programs that initiate community
conversations about race, equality, and social freedom. - Year-round cultural events that promote reading and writing throughout Geauga County.
