More Than $49,000 Awarded To Northern Ohio Public Safety Organizations

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is celebrating $49,769 worth of life-saving equipment grants awarded to The Munson Fire Department, Concord Township Fire Department, Litchfield Fire & Rescue Department and Madison Fire District.

DONATION DESCRIPTION

Munson Fire Department received new extrication equipment worth $24,959. The awarded equipment will improve the department’s rescue capabilities for victims in motor vehicle accidents.

Concord Township Fire Department received 500 smoke alarms worth $10,675. These alarms will be installed in homes of elderly, disabled and low-income citizens, helping ensure the community is prepared for fire emergencies. While installing, firefighters will also conduct home safety inspections and fire prevention education for residents.

Litchfield Fire & Rescue Department received a chest compression system worth $13,654. The awarded device will assist first responders by delivering uninterrupted chest compressions at a constant rate and depth to cardiac arrest patients, helping improve a patient’s chance of survival.

Madison Fire District received 25 carbon monoxide detectors (CO) worth $481. The awarded detectors will be installed and serviced in the homes of elderly citizens as part of the city’s “Senior Program.”

IN-RESTAURANT FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES

Each restaurant recycles leftover, five-gallon pickle buckets, available to guests for a $2 donation to the Foundation. Donation canisters on register counters explain the non-profit’s mission and collect spare change, while the Round Up Program allows guests to “round up” their bill to the nearest dollar. All funds raised benefit the Foundation.
