Nature Fun for Kids – Get groovy tips for Nature drawing; explore skin, bones & winter solstice history
This season, Geauga Park District has planned several programs for great kids ages 6 to 11.
Nature Explorers will turn explorers into investigators of skin and bones of our local mammals on Saturday, October 29th, then celebrate the winter solstice and learn how different cultures did the same on Friday, December 30th. Both programs take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The West Woods Nature Center. Separate sessions are led for ages 6 to 7 and 8 to 11. These programs are drop-off only, so parents can go do their own thing while kids have fun in the park!
Then, what better way to spend winter break than improving your Nature-drawing skills? On Wednesday, December 28th, Nature Drawing for Kids offers up some handy pencil-and-paper techniques for sketching and cartooning animals and plants, with time to practice, plus tricks for how to make a photo-realistic drawing without tracing! This program happens at The West Woods Nature Center from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for ages 8 to 11, then from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for ages 12 to 15.
Registration is required for all these programs at www.geaugaparkdistrict.org or 440-286-9516, which may also be called with questions.
