NEW FUN FOR THANKSGIVING WEEKEND – Sign up for a strenuous calorie-burning hike or a family scavenger hunt

Once the big meal is eaten, looking for something to do? Pay attention to these clues.

On a scavenger hunt you can go, discovering animal facts you did not know!

Or if family fun isn’t your thing, raise your heart rate to settle those extra helpings!

Geauga Park District will offer two special programs this season for the post-Thanksgiving crowd, both requiring registration at geaugaparkdistrict.org or 440-286-9516.

On Friday, November 26, you can Hike Your Turkey Off from 9 a.m. to noon at Big Creek Park. This strenuous, eight-mile, calorie-burning, quick-and-steady trail hike promises to push you – Naturalist Trevor will make sure of it!

Then, on Saturday, November 27, explore The West Woods, indoors and out, during the Forest Friends Scavenger Hunt from 1 to 3 p.m. Rhyming clues will lead you to animal shapes of all sizes – find them all to win fun prizes! Register for the program, then drop in any time during program hours to pick up a scavenger hunt card. Two skills levels will be available (5 and under or 6+), and staff will be available to assist.

We hope you and yours have a nice Thanksgiving…and we’ll see you afterwards in your parks!
