New Twists for Holiday Tradition A Christmas Carol

The classic, A Christmas Carol, returns to the Geauga Theater stage this holiday season. While it remains a tradition, and was specially adapted for the Guild by Terry Sedivy and Rory Swift with music by Sarah Hamrick, Donald Dingman and Laura Christian, this year it will receive new twists from director Angela Miloro-Hansen. The large cast, ages 7 to over 60, include both those new to the stage as well as seasoned actors. Only two members will reprise former roles; Todd Sarbach and Jessica Boalt as Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig. Veteran actor Jim Ray, formerly seen as the narrator in 2008 and 2009, will perform in the lead role as Scrooge.

This musical story tells of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly old man, who loves his money and work more than mankind. Scrooge’s deceased partner, Jacob Marley, warns that three ghosts will visit to show him his fate. As Scrooge soars through time, he realizes his ways and wishes to redeem himself on Christmas morning.

A Christmas Carol will run from November 30 through December 16. Friday and Saturday evening performances are at 8 p.m.; the Sunday performances are at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18.00 for adults, $15.00 for students/seniors, and a new special rate for children 12 and under of $10.00. Or consider a season pass for the best deal – it is not too late!

The historic Geauga Theater is located on beautiful Chardon Square at 101 Water Street in Chardon, Ohio. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the website or call the box office at 440‑286‑2255.
