Make a Resolution to be a Better Speaker in 2014
Chardon Toastmasters member Stacia Clawson presented her tenth speech to the club in December, earning her the title of “Competent Communicator” in the Toastmasters International organization. Her award was presented by Vice President of Education Nancy Temple, DTM. While the Chardon club is privileged to have members with titles as advanced as Distinguished Toastmaster and Advanced Communicator Gold, it is also home to several newer members who have just begun their Toastmasters journeys.
The club is always open to guests and visitors, and has two exciting events coming up soon. The first is the club-level International Speaking Contest, which will take place on Thursday, January 23 at 6:30 pm in the Chardon Chamber of Commerce office. Club members will present speeches 5-7 minutes in length and be evaluated by judges from neighboring clubs.
On March 13, the Chardon Toastmasters club will host an Open House at the Chardon Chamber of Commerce office. This event will be an opportunity for members of the community to see what a meeting is like. Stop by with a friend to see what you could learn from joining Toastmasters.
Chardon Toastmasters meet every Thursday at 6:30 pm in the Chamber of Commerce office at 111 South Street in Chardon. Guests are welcome at any time. Please visit our website for more information.
