NDES 5th grade STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) students began their year with an engineering instant challenge. Students were asked to build a boat that would transport a ping-pong ball through a maze while using given material and working within time constraints. Team members combined their knowledge and experience and honed communication skills in their efforts to achieve the best time.
