I found a lost box of photos on the closet floor
In a “NANO-SECOND” 3 hours flew out the door.
Old Photos can suddenly seductively take you away
To long gone, youthful, bliss full days,
When, now grown children are kids one more time
That they grew up so fast is a damn crime.
Then there are Dear Ones who too early passed away
If they were here today – what would you say?
Some Photos are a Giant Mystery
Where is that at? Who can that be?
There’s that car that was so important to you
When you sold it you were left frustrated and blue.
There’s your first house – a special Home
It was so cozy – you never wanted to roam.
The Vacation to that far off exotic place
Filled with wild beauty and Nature’s unique grace.
Some pictures are now faded – but still have great value
To have lost them I’d be angry and blue.
Some got bent in the back of my desk
I am sorry these priceless treasures are such a wreck.
There were some “Sweet Tears” – but many more smiles
As I ran a marathon of memory’s miles.
Drifting mind trips with these dusty old photos
Birthed the greatest joy this “Old Fart” could know.
