The time has come for the Bainbridge Civic Club’s (BBC) Community Ox Roast to evolve; the fundraising event is now Bainbridge Rox. Don’t worry, the BBC will still be roasting up some mouth-watering ox to serve, it just won’t be the sole focus of the event. The Club has added multiple new activities and features to create an all-day event that has something for everybody in the family.
Bainbridge Rox features live music, a children’s entertainment area, a casino with a Texas Hold’em tournament, four different food trucks in addition to the BBC ox roast, a gourmet frozen dessert offering, and a beer tent. There is no admission fee and parking is free.
The music stage (still looking for a stage sponsor) will be rocking from 12 pm to 10 pm. The current performance schedule is:
12 pm – 1 pm Anne Matko
1 pm – 2 pm Steve Vanderlink
2 pm – 4 pm Miles Road Band
4 pm – 6:30 pm Big 5 Show Band
7 pm – 10 pm Mother Ale
The HG Agents Kids Area will provide family entertainment including a live performance stage (sponsorship available) for multiple acts, face painting, balloons, an inflatable obstacle course, a disc golf tournament, and more. Please stay tuned for details and the schedule for live performances.
The Highway Garage Casino will host a Texas Hold’em tournament and raffles throughout the day. More games of skill may be added. The winner will receive 50% of the pot which will exceed $5,000 if all available (130) seats are filled. The tournament starts at 3 pm; pre-register at TheCivicClub.org or starting at 2 pm at the event. Register & Pay before Aug 15 to receive $250 in bonus chips. The entrance fee is $75 and includes $2,000 in chips, an ox roast meal, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Variety is being added to the food lineup this year. In addition to the famous BCC ox roast, which is rumored to possibly include some pre-smoking this year, there will be four “food trucks” at Bainbridge Rox. Taste in Bainbridge favorites Cowboy Food & Drink and Coyote Mexican Grill & Cantina are scheduled to be serving their delicious cuisine. The beer tent will feature several craft beers on tap along with two traditional domestic offerings. Frozen gourmet desserts, water, and fountain drinks will also be available.
