Peters Family and Boosters Make Donation to Cover Fall Activity Fees

$98,712.00 – that was the total cost to cover all pay-to-participate fees for fall activities this year, and as of Wednesday, August 9th, that amount is paid in full. Tom and Joyce Peters, along with the athletic and music boosters, presented the nearly $100,000 check to Cardinal Superintendent, Dr. Scott J. Hunt at the August 9th board of education meeting. The donation effectively reduced pay-to-participate fees to zero for fall. Money was raised as a result of different summer fundraisers held by the music boosters, the athletic booster car raffle, and proceeds from the Joe Peters Memorial Pig Roast. “I know our son [Joe Peters] would be very proud,” Joyce said at the meeting. “This fundraising effort by the entire community far exceeded everyone’s expectations I believe,” said Hunt. “There aren’t enough words to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who supported our kids and their efforts to raise money. Thank you.”
