Rescue Village Helps Animals from Louisiana Floods

Novelty, OH ~ On Tuesday, August 23rd Rescue Village will receive a transport of 20-25 puppies and young adult dogs who have traveled from a flooded Louisiana, to Atlanta, Georgia, and finally to Rescue Village, one of the leading animal shelters in Northeast Ohio. Once the animals have received treatment from Rescue Village’s medical team and given behavioral assessments, they will be put up for adoption.

The dogs and puppies were initially rescued from flooded animal shelters in Louisiana by Arcadiana Animal Aid, an animal welfare organization in Louisiana, who worked to transport them and others to shelters across the country including to Atlanta Humane, from whom Rescue Village regularly receives transports.

Hundreds of pets and shelter animals have been saved from the deadly flooding in southern Louisiana thanks to the efforts of many.

Just over a year ago, Rescue Village underwent a major renovation and expansion project which has allowed the shelter to take these displaced animals and find them forever homes right here in Northeast Ohio.

Rescue Village touches the lives of over 4,000 animals each year.
