Inspiring Women to Achieve Personal and Professional Success
On Friday, October 28th, the Cleveland Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and Geauga County’s Red Key Network will be co-sponsoring a day of activities designed to inspire women across Northeastern Ohio to achieve greater personal and professional success. The Savvy Women Succeed event will be held at Parkside Church, 7100 Pettibone Road in Chagrin Falls, Ohio from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. In addition to two keynotes by nationally renowned female business owners, the day will include a lunchtime fashion show and a number of break-out sessions moderated by regionally based coaches.
Lisa Kusner Hovanec, Aurora Farms Premium Outlets’ general manager, will be coordinating the fashion event featuring NAWBO and Red Key members wearing apparel from the Ann Taylor Factory Store, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th and other premier fashion retailers. The show will appeal to both the budget-conscious shopper and the fashionista. Hovanec explains, “We will be focusing on how to repurpose an existing wardrobe by incorporating a few new pieces each season. But we will also be showcasing the newest trend, Capsule Wardrobes, in which shoppers create a fresh look by purchasing 30 to 40 totally coordinated pieces.”
Regional coaches hosting break-out sessions include licensed soft-skills trainer, Lori Gorrell, who will be addressing “The Science of Employee Retention,” brand engagement strategist, Kathy Gray, who will be presenting “Stop the Social Media Insanity: It’s Time for a Reality Check,” and the Ohio Wine Association’s Donniella Winchell, who will be sharing with participants her insights into “Building Bridges-Crossing the Generational Divide in the Workplace.”
The event’s co-sponsors are the Red Key Network, which is dedicated to providing women in Geauga County with education, mentoring and networking support and the Cleveland Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), which helps propel female entrepreneurs in Northeastern Ohio into economic, social and political spheres of power worldwide.
Organizational sponsors for Savvy Women Succeed include Bemer Group, Chesterland Innovation Center, Geauga Realty Group, The Geauga County Women’s Journal, Hospice of the Western Reserve, LOCLE Box, Luna Living, Stratos Wealth Partners, Style-In and Presenting Sponsor United Way Services of Geauga County.
