Art Suskin, director of The 39 Steps at Geauga Lyric Theater, started with musical theatre in the 1960s. Since then, he has directed well over 150 productions. In more than 45 years of directing, he has presented theatre in virtually every theatrical genre, and is thrilled to be directing the season opener for GLTG’s Season of Laughter.
Even so, he was surprised at his first foray with Geauga Lyric Theater. “I was knocked out by the level of excellence of GLTG’s staff and designers and the eagerness the actors showed in tackling this funny mountain of a production. Making them part of a living story that generates in the audience excitement, suspense, and gales of laughter is the kind of challenge I live for.”
Suskin loves this play. “The surprising interplay of an exciting spy story with some of the silliest and funniest scenes they will ever see! Four actors playing 120-plus roles at breakneck speed. What a delight!”
